Coming out of the closet

I did it. After some six years of keeping this secret, I finally came out of the closet to my mom, today. She was thought I was joking at first. And then the shock came in.

Gaurav: "So, there you have it..."
Mom: "I have been telling my friends, that my son is not this way. I just told this auntie that none of my kids are doing that"

She then asked what caused me to choose this lifestyle. I told her I was always curious. And then living with Rishi and Aashish did not help. I blame them. My sisters, god bless them, have known for 3 years now, have supported me and not judged me.

It was kinda cheap to tell my mom over the phone, I admit it, but I could not live a lie anymore. She told me not to let any of our close friends know, and to do it out of the house. I asked her if she was upset and disappointed, and she said well I kept you clean for the first 18 years, and now you a man and can live your life.

When I went home this weekend, my mom was a little more honest. She told me she was really hurt and cried a bit over the fact. I profusely apologized but I could tell things were going to be a bit different. My dad was a little more angry, but was equally shocked. At a wedding event, my mom snuck in a comment when i asked her what vegetable something was. Luckily, my elder sister was there to defend me.

I finally did it. I can't believe it. I feel free.

I no longer having to hide the fact that I eat chicken from my parents anymore.
Of course, I would never order eat it in front of them.

a.) jains are inherently brokeback.
b.) getting an insult from a jain is harmless. in all honesty, you just laugh, because the amount of comebacks and insults you can unleash is countless.
c.) considering I am the only guy on both sides who eats meat, it is actually a big thing.
